    Description

This item is from the John Kennel World's Columbian Collection, as are others listed on Ebay right now.
The pin box is in excellent condition as you can see. Of the various pin/trinket boxes we've seen from the fair over the years, this one stands out as a bit odd and different in that it is clearly being designated for a specific use. The hairpin of the 1890s is shown on the top of the box. I'd guess you could use it for whatever you'd like, however, or just put it in the display cabinet with other Columbiana.
We are rather frantically assembling our annual sale, the largest we've ever posted. The sale will go live at 12:00 noon on September 1 and will feature fixed price and auction listings. PLEASE, contact me with questions and for details as I'd hate to have any Columbian or other collector miss out on any of the lots.
Naturally, the sale will include perhaps 50 Columbian pieces, most from the Kennel Collection which we have been selling for more than 2 years; while we never did a full count and originall suggested it had 4,000+ items, and later revised that to 5,000, I'd guess the actual total is even more. We probably have close to 1,000 items still remaining and when I've done this estimate I probably under-guessed the total since there are many duplicate medals, dozens of small items (such as stamps or other paper pieces), tickets, pamphlets, sales cards, publications, glass and china and on and on.
Our sale will include a dozen other fairs, plus numismatic items, 3d souvenirs, tickets, medals from most every expo and more. Please do contact me for more information and I'll continue to add new information as it comes up between now and the September 1 date.
I probably hit about 400+ items earmarked for the sale and have decided to scale it back a little, to about 350 items that we will be offering in 250+ lots. The opportunity for some huge bargains exist as when there are 2, 3, 4 or more items in a lot, invariably the selling price is better on a per-item basis.
Thanks for looking, and this item is an example of one originally planned to go in the sale, but I have and will continue to sell a variety of such pieces on Ebay in the weeks ahead rather than holding so much for the September 1 sale.
