WORLD'S COLUMBIAN EXPO 3 STAMPS CANCELLED 10 &15 CENTS+ REPRINTS #WCE055

Description

I acquired this group of perforated and seemingly attached group of World's Columbian stamps with a large group of new and cancelled 1893 Columbian stamps. I initially assumed that all were vintage 1893 issues. But when I saw the perforations still attached to these odd denominations it would seem they would have to be modern reissues, then of course I saw the "1992" in the top right corner. So these were printed and released by the USPS on the centennial of the world's fair, but interesting that they are the exact plates from the originals. perhaps in 1992 or 1993 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Exposition.
Reprints and commemoratives in 1992 but still a nice little strip of stamps to display or go in a folder along with other Columbian stamps and/or paper items even if they aren't from 1892.

genuine unused and used 1892 government issued Columbian postage stamps in our September sale of Americana and world's fair items from 12 different expositions....nearly 50 from the World's Columbian Expo. We will also have coins, medals and other items from fairs beginning with the first ever in London in 1851 a the first Crystal Palace; we will also have items from the second Crystal Palace Exposition at the 1853 New York world's fair.
