Great 1897 Theatre Memorabilia, Program from CHICAGO OPERA HOUSE
    DESCRIPTION:
Really nice original antique programme from the CHICAGO OPERA HOUSE, 1897-1898 Season. J. A. Hamlin, Proprietor and Harry Hamlin, Manager.
The program shows a picture of Bessie Clayton in costume, during the play, on the front. On the bottom of the cover it also says "this program furnished by Jefferson Theatre Program Co., 175 Monroe St.". Opera information and actors, etc. shown in scans. Also, MANY PAGES OF GREAT ADS, including for pianos, bicycles, flags, carriages, and high class restaurants, etc. Also, lots of ads for restaurants and inns on Lake Michigan. LOOK AT THE GREAT AD SHOWING A LARGE MESS OF FISH CAUGHT!!
Program is in very good condition. 1 stain on the cover, and the paper is generally good. Pages are together and binding is excellent. Measures 6 1/2" x 8".
This IS THE EARLIEST PIECE OF ORIGINAL THEATRE MEMORABILIA I HAVE EVER SEEN!!! Especially nice being from CHICAGO. Would make a great part of any collection.  Over 120 years old, contemporary to the Spanish American War.
AN EXCELLENT CANDIDATE FOR MATTING & FRAMING.
A fascinating subject and period, loaded with many illustrations and photos and ads, as well as the play detaiils.
