LOOK!!! 1893 WORLD'S COLUMBIAN POCKET WATCH IN WOODEN BOX SEE DESCRIPTION #1015

This is an absolutely super piece from the John Kennel Columbian Collection. I was a little disappointed when I saw the box and opened it and looked at the face of the watch: It's a different brand than the Award Winner cited on the box. Flipping the watch over I was a tad more excited. The watch is indeed from the World's Columbian Expo and I suspect either John put it in the box that was empty or the person from whom he purchased it had it in this box and John simply left it there.
I considered offering it without the box but then thought that since the WOOD box is so very cool and has the label on it citing it as an award winner at the fair I assumed that anyone buying the watch would also find the box worth owning as well. Consider it as a free bonus to accompany the watch. I know the Columbian Expo pretty well having studied it as a historian, author and collector (not to mention seller) for more than 40 years. The only other Columbian watch I've owned and sold previously was the Ingersoll that has the very ornate case with scenes of the fair. I sold that watch many years ago for something in excess of 0. This is certainly far more scarce than the Ingersoll which is quite well known.
I am offering it at just 9 to open the bidding. I mentioned the watch to a longtime colleague who said he was not a watch person, per se, either but knew many watch collectors and they would likely be thrilled to own this piece AND the box. So here is that opportunity that I believe should be very low to open and quite reasonable with the Buy it Now.
