    Description

). The subject and style tends to indicate this may be a design by Utamaro who was a very successful woodblock print artist. Utamaro subtly sought to capture the individual personalities of beautiful Japanese women, mostly the Geisha.
Artwork has been reproduced on 100% silk, with vibrant colors of Red, Black, Purple & some Pink. In Excellent Condition... no tears, stains, runs, color fade, or odors. This particular piece would look fabulous in a Black Lacquer Frame!"
    *Tsutaya Jūzaburō
was the founder and head of the Tsutaya publishing house in Edo, Japan and produced illustrated books and ukiyo-e woodblock prints of many of the period's most famous artists. He is credited with discovering genius', particularly that of Utamaro. The Tsutaya Juzaburo seal is an Ivy Leaf under the 3 peaks of Mt. Fugi which can be seen in the lower left of this piece of artwork.
