Here is my newest discovery. Many of you may be familiar with the series of World Premiere - Global Security pins that have been released for the past few years for the USA and UK Premieres of Disney, Pixar, LucasFilm, and Marvel film releases which numbers somewhere around 30 different pins as of now.
For those of you not familiar with this series of pins they are given to select security personnel at the world premieres for films from the studios named above. The premiere's attended by the actors and celebrities with red carpets and fanfare. Estimates for the edition sizes of these pins run anywhere from 100-250 depending on the expectations for the film. Lesser films had a smaller complement of security guard and pins were distributed to both USA and UK world premieres.
This pin is identical in design, a 15/16" diameter round pin (though there are a few unique design in the series), usually adorned with either the title of image connected to the movie (In this case a large image of the head of Mufasa), with title of the film, and the words "Global Security" and "World Premiere" around the circumference. This pin has the words "Lion King 2019", and "Global Security" around the outer rim. I would suspect that there is a significantly smaller security retinue for a regular showing of a West End play and thus there are probably far fewer of these than its counterparts made for the film premieres.
It is the only known release and pin for a Broadway/West End show rather than a film. This particular example is believed to have come from the theatre the show performs at in London, the Lyceum Theatre. Since the pins are in continual use, many of them do not make it out to the open market.
*** It's also possible this pin is from the touring show, there has been no definitive information to confirm which venue it came from, though my source lives near London.
