    Description

A pair of  Qing Dynasty (circa 1850) Chinese matrimonial studies
    painted on pith paper.
Both bride and groom wear matching rank badges / Mandarin Squares on their surcoats.
The rank badges (Buzi) depict the Silver pheasant with the orange beak which is the 5th Civil Rank.
He wears a peacock feather on his hat and she wears a blue matrimonial headdress.
The antique paintings themselves are in good shape.
The pith surface has cracks and some soiling and the mat is soiled as well.
    These beauties merit re-framing.
The picture is loose in the frame as well.
    Overall frame size is 9 1/4" x 11 1/4".
The figures themselves measure approx. 5 7/8" tall.
