Supplemental Information:
Clark's
is a very old
English company
which made a name for itself by inventing a smooth
twisted cotton thread
in the early 1800s that was easy to hand sew as well as use in the new fangled sewing machine, and
wood spools
to hold a convenient quantity for most home projects. They used the catch abbreviation
"O.N.T."
for decades which simply stands for
"Our New Thread."
They were a revered
world class company
but I could not find that they had their own WCE exhibit space but perhaps shared space with another like J. P. Coats. Nostalgic sewing history and still very collectible! Still available today: the picture of a spool from my wife's sewing kit (shown).
- Condition:
Excellent:
Vivid colors (shown). Perfect navy blue print on reverse; purple stamp of store (shown). No bends. No tears or stains. Lower right corner wear (shown). Nostalgic WCE supporter from a world class manufacturer.
