PICTURES ABOVE ARE THE ACTUAL SCANS OF THE TICKETS
Own a rare and
beautiful piece of American history with this authentic set of tickets
from the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. This set consists
of all 6 of the much sought after admission tickets. These beautiful tickets were only sold as ADVANCE sale tickets—to individuals planning a trip
months ahead, to businesses interested in giving them out as promotions,
to Chicagoans anxious both to support the fair and have their tickets
for their planned many visits. The four basic tickets were printed in a regular 'B' series and then an
additional “A” series when more were needed. The first 'B' printings were
for one million each, the “A” printing for 500,000 each. Tickets bought at the fair were not as fancy and elaborate.
The American Bank Note Company produced
the  set of six tickets: Columbus, Lincoln, Washington and an American
Indian Chief, all four of which were general admission tickets. The
other two were specialty tickets, Benjamin Franklin for complimentary
entrance and Handel for music.
If your
goal is to find pristine condition World's Columbian Exposition tickets
for submission to PMG, PCGS, etc for grading and encapsulation, this is
THE ONE. It took me a while to hunt down pristine copies of all 6 and I
only sell them now due to a recent unfortunate turn of events. Rest
assured then when they are shipped, they will be in soft sleeves inside
3x5 top loaders, carefully packed and fully insured!
