    Description

Up for auction is this great 1893 Columbian Exposition/Chicago World's Fair wood beer foam scraper. The extremely rare piece has a multicolored painted image of Christopher Columbus's Coat of Arms on the top. Below this, it says "yun oltro piloto descubriro un nuevo mundo 1492". This roughly translates from Spanish to English to "another pilot discovers the New World', a reference to Columbus's maiden and subsequent voyages to the Western Hemisphere from Europe. On the handle it says "Chicago 1893" for the Chicago Columbian Exposition fair of that time. Edges are trimmed in brown with the bottom of the handle having a period Art Nouveau inspired design. It has an unusual guitar like shape. The piece measures about 10 inches long. No manufacturers markings. In nice condition with an excellent antique age patina to the wood! Some expected age wear to the paint but it still retains most of the graphics with just some fairly minor scratches. No splits or cracks. A great and hard to find piece in nice shape offered with NO RESERVE!! Please see our other unique Columbian Exposition pieces on eBay! We do not determine shippingcosts!
