    Description

This 1893 Chicago Worlds Fair paper FLOWER fan is Great.  It is hard to tell from the photos but there are some gold flakes remaining on the "Brown/Gold" leaf and a light silver edging around the leaf.  The "World's Fair 1893" looks hand painted in gold.  The bamboo rib support of the paper leaf is reminiscent of Japanese Uchiwa fan fabrication.  The leaf is 8-7/8" W x 9-1/4" H and the total fan with the black lacquered stick is 13-1/4" high.
Please contact me for more details or detailed photos.
I have seen the OWL and the BUTTERFLY of this type of fan, but not the FLOWER.  A must have for your world's fair collection!!
